Diversified was born
After being laid off from a local prepress house, Ed Steven’s rented 800 sq/ft and Diversified Graphics, Inc. was born in the spring of 1976. First reflective camera purchased for producing line art and color separations.

New Building
Diversified purchases first drum Linotype Hell 350 Drum Scanner to provide four color scanning capabilities for customers. Purchased 2500 sq/ft building.

Second Hell drum scanner
Second linotype Hell Drum scanner purchased. Analog color proofing from 3M matchprint added.

Purchased second building
Purchased new Hell Color workstation capable of photo-retouching and color correction, also added auto-stripper to stream-line traditional film composition. Purchased 16,000 sq/ft building (current location).

Diversified Imaging, Inc. incorporated
Updated to first Macintosh 2fx with floppy drive (oh boy) and film image setter. Diversified Imaging, Inc. was incorporated.

Upgraded Facility
Added two 4-color Heidelberg image setters, capable of producing up to 30″ x 40″ composite film negatives. And also upgraded to an all Macintosh facility with the latest software revolutionizing the direct to film market and digital proofing.

Purchased first Heidelberg Di direct-to-press printing machine in all of Central Florida. Capable of 12″ x 18″ 4-color printing.

Heidelberg and Stahl upgrades
Transition from a pre-press facility to a full print shop with the purchase of a Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 6-color press with prefector, Heidelberg GTO 2-color press. Heidelberg Prosetter direct to plate machine, Polar cuter Stahl Folder, and a Bourg collate/stitcher/trimmer booklet maker.
